XIII Edition - 1-13/11/2007 - The Mediterranean as the new centre for Europe On the Waterfront of European Policies
Is Europe finding a new center? What roles may the Mediterranean play in the European enlargement process. The XIII edition of the International Summer School on the Problems of the New Europe aims at providing an original interpretative framework for the social and political changes occuring at the European level starting from its top-down relations and bottom-up interactions with the Mediterranean.
The school general objective encompasses the development of the following specific themes:

Continuities and Discontinuities between Southern Europe and the MEDA countries;

The Mediterranean as a variable in the EU policy making process;

The migratig Mediterranean;

The multicultural Mediterranean;

The Mediterranean city;

The Mediterranean and local development policies;

The Mediterranean and the new models of EU regionalism;

The role of South Eastern Europe in the Mediterranean.
